School Day

School Day

Start time for Year One is 8:45am, we will meet the children at the main car park gate and walk them down to their classrooms.
Home time is 3:15pm from the classroom door.

At 3:10pm the drive gates will be opened and parents should wait outside our classroom door for children to be dismissed.  When collecting your child please stand well back to allow the children to pass by.

We still have the passwords from last year so please ensure that whoever picks your child up knows the password, thank you!

Your child is entitled to a free piece of fruit every day.  If your child wishes to drink milk please pay for this via the parentpay app.  Children should also bring a water bottle to school every day, filled with water only please.

Reading

Reading

Reading is a hugely important part of our curriculum.  As well as reading in school, children will be given a home reader, reading record and a bookmark.

As part of our new reading initiative this year, children who have read to an adult 3 times in a week will receive a sticker or stamp on their own personal reading bookmark. Once they fill their bookmark they will receive a special reward!

Reading books should be brought to school daily.

PE

PE

We have PE on a Monday and gymnastics on a Wednesday with Mr Gilmore.  We have Commando Joe sessions on a Tuesday.

On P.E. Days, children will need to wear the correct P.E. kit. This should be kept on their pegs for the half term in case of any timetable changes:

      • Plain white t-shirt (with or without school logo)
      • Navy or black jogging bottoms/leggings or shorts
      • Black or white trainers

Autumn Term Topics

Maths: Addition and Subtraction

ClassDojo
Class Dojo
This year we will be continuing to Class Dojo school-wide as a means of maintaining parent communication and as our whole-school rewards system. We will be posting regular updates to our Class Story throughout the year as well as reminders for parents and pupils.
We are looking forward to seeing those smiling faces again in September and excited for the year ahead!
