Hello and welcome to Class 12! We are a Year 6 class taught by Mrs Lauderdale.

It is great to see everyone back and in the swing of things. Year 6 is a fantastic year group and every pupil is working hard to achieve the best they possibly can.

Dates for Diaries:

Week beginning 5th May – Parents Evening Week

Thursday 6th May – Polling day (SCHOOL CLOSED)

Friday 28th May – Last day of Summer 1 half term

Monday 19th July – Year 6 Surfing

Friday 23rd July – Last day of Summer term

Start time: 9.15 Main gate

End time: 3.30 Main gate

PE is taught every Thursday. Children need to come into school dressed in their outdoor PE kits. This includes joggers/leggings, PE shirt, hoodie/sweatshirt, trainers.

Reading is extremely important to learning in school and is a fantastic life skill. The majority of Year 6 are free readers, which means they have a choice of a wide variety of books from our Year group library. Children read in school and at home and change them when finished. We are working together to achieve a class treat – read 3 times a week and you will achieve a tick on our chart. When we reach 100 ticks we get a lovely (and usually delicious) treat! Let’s work together to achieve our goal!

Spelling homework is given every Monday and children are tested on Fridays. Other homework tasks may be given throughout the term. Reading is always a priority and it is expected pupils read at least 3 times per week.

Our topics for the Summer 2 half term are as follows:

Finally, as a class we came up with a Class 12 motto – which I think is perfect!
