Today the children have all talked about Remembrance Day and what the poppy represents.  Some of the children in Year 1/2 and Year 4 painted poppies on stones and Mrs Askwith took them to the cenotaph at Jarrow Cemetery.

The children also enjoyed making their own poppies to wear during the two minutes silence today.

The rest of the school also commemorated the day with a two minutes silence at 11am following a special Remembrance Day assembly in their bubbles.
Class 12 also produced some excellent Remembrance artwork on Remembrance Day. Using the medium of charcoals, they imagined what they would see if they went ‘over the top’ into no mans land. Mrs Lauderdale is so proud of her budding artists!
