The Thurston excitement continues…some of the children have had a fun filled day taking part in team building activities and rock climbing. They are all having fun and eating well!
It was an exciting day for many of our year 5/6s as they headed off to Thurston in the Lake District. They had a nice drive over and stopped en route for some lunch. They have just arrived now safe and sound; they are busy unpacking and getting allocated their dorms.
What an amazing first day back we’ve had! It was so nice to see the school full of children again. They were all so excited to see each other and get into their new classes. They all looked so smart too. We are going to have a fab year!
Welcome back!! We hope you’ve enjoyed a relaxing summer break. We’re excited to welcome you back for another amazing year, full of learning and opportunities for everyone to dive into!
We are looking for everyone to achieve their best this year and we are here to support all the children to achieve that. This doesn’t always mean in purely academic ways, it may be about becoming the best gymnast you can become, the most creative artist or just becoming the best friend to someone.
We understand that some of you might be feeling a bit nervous about coming back (both children and parents) – that’s totally normal and okay. 6 weeks is a long time to be off but as a school community we are all here to help and support. Just ask.
To our parents and carers, you are a crucial part of our school, our staff couldn’t do what they do without you, thank you so much.
We are going to have a fab year.
Our school gives the year sixes a clap of honour each year to celebrate all their hard work over the last 7 years. It’s a rite of passage. Today was no different and is something that these children will remember for the rest of their lives. Westies for life. ![]()
We had a great transition morning; all the children were so excited to see their new classrooms and meet their teachers for next year.
It has been so nice to build closer links with all our feeder nurseries this year and help the new Reception intake settle in so much better in September. The children had a chance to see their new teachers and their new classrooms. It was lovely!
