As part of our Melva learning in year 4, the children explored the importance of being physically active both in school and at home, discussing activities they can enjoy independently as well as in groups. We talked about the positive chemical reactions that occur in the brain during exercise, focusing on endorphins and how they help us feel good. The children then took part in a game of “Furnus Says,” where they had to listen carefully to instructions and, at times, do the opposite, which added an extra challenge. They thoroughly enjoyed being outside in the sunshine, staying active and engaged throughout the session.
