Yesterday our Year 1/2 children wrapped up warm and headed out for a snowy winter walk around West Boldon Primary!
We explored our school grounds just like the fox in Coming Home by Michael Morpurgo, using our five senses to notice all the magical wintery details that will help us with our setting descriptions next week.

- What could we hear?
- What did the snow feel like?
- What smells told us winter was here?
- And even—what did the cold taste like?
The children gathered brilliant ideas ready to bring their writing to life. We can’t wait to start creating our own snowy scenes!
