Year 1 have been using the text ‘Owl Babies’ by Martin Waddell in their Guided Reading sessions. On Friday, the children worked in pairs to order pictures from the story and used them to retell the story in their own words. After they practised with their partner, we retold it as a whole class, adding in more detail and interesting vocabulary.
