As part of Year 3’s National Curriculum Essentials Science topic, May the Force be With You, they have been learning about magnets.
Today they were tasked with finding the magnetic items in our classroom by using a magnet and placing it over a selection of objects, just like in a scrapyard. If the items were magnetic they would be attracted to the magnet.
They had to sort the items into magnetic and non-magnetic. They discovered that all of the magnetic items were made from metal, however not all metals are magnetic as the pencil sharpener blade was magnetic, but the rest of the object wasn’t!
Year 2 have been practicing their throwing and catching in PE with Tony our Multi-skills coach. They were challenging to make it harder by changing distances and adding a clap before the catch.
