Reception and KS1 Halloween Disco

24th October 2024Fiona Goodwin

What a spooktacular evening we had at Monday night’s Reception & KS1 Halloween Disco! The little ghouls and ghosts danced the night away in their amazing costumes, with plenty of treats (and a few tricks!) to keep the fun going.

A big thankyou to all the parents, staff and volunteers who made this magical night happen – we couldn’t have done it without you!

Hope everyone enjoyed the games, music and all the sweet goodies. We’re already looking forward to the next big event!

Outdoor Maths Fun!

24th October 2024Fiona Goodwin

Today in the outdoor classroom ARC 1 explored numbers in such a creative way. Using chalk and stones the children built part-whole models for numbers up to 10, helping them visualise and understand number relationships. We emphasised the use of mathematical language throughout, reinforcing key concepts. ARC 1 also got to tap into their artistic side, using natural materials from the environment to create beautiful, unique artwork. It was a wonderful blend of nature, learning and creativity, and the students loved it!

Key to Life – Harvest Assembly

24th October 2024Fiona Goodwin

A huge thank you to our amazing West Boldon Primary Community!

On Tuesday 15th October, Marie from Key to Life on Boldon Lane, South Shields, joined us at our assembly to accept food donations organised by our School Council. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we’ve collected enough food to support families across South Tyneside for the next two weeks!

This initiative reflects our key British Values of mutual respect and individual liberty. Our children have shown tremendous compassion by helping those in need, ensuring others can live with dignity, even during tough times.

A massive thank you to all the kind and caring families who made this possible. Your contributions will make a real difference in our local community and highlight the power of empathy and responsibility.

  • Afterwards, enjoy a free school lunch with your child while you review their work and books.

To keep it personal and interactive, we’re limiting each Friday to 5 parents. If you’d like to reserve a spot, pleas email [email protected]. These sessions will run every Friday throughout the year!

The children from the Giving Project enjoyed making traditional paper chains to decorate the hall for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, which was held in school. It was a great success in raising funds for this amazing charity.

House Captains and Vice Captains 2024

23rd September 2024Fiona Goodwin
Exciting News from West Boldon Primary
We believe in the power of democracy and giving our students a voice! We constantly talk to our children about British Values and democracy is a key part of this.️ This week, our pupils took part in a *real-life election* to choose their new **House Captains** and **Vice Captains** for each house!
After a fun and fair campaign, complete with speeches and lots of enthusiasm, the children voted for the leaders who will guide their house throughout the year.
Congratulations to all the winners! We’re so proud of all the students who took part — this was a fantastic opportunity to learn about leadership and teamwork.

Getting ready for the new academic year

14th August 2024Fiona Goodwin

Whilst the school is closed for the summer holidays there’s still lots of activity at West Boldon Primary getting it ready for the new academic year. We’re sanding the Hall floor back to its original colour, getting new flooring in many of the classrooms and getting new fixed displays up. It will look fab for the children when they return.
