Celebration Assembly 3rd Oct 2025

5th October 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

What a fantastic way to end the week at West Boldon!

Today we celebrated our Golden Coin Star of the Week Assembly, where children were recognised for showing our Gold Standards.

We also had the big reveal of our Opal Golden Welly competition – the lucky winning class gained an extra 5 minutes of break time.

The Golden Coin awards are now linked to our brand-new behaviour tracking system, making it even easier to celebrate positive choices across school.

Well done to all our shining stars – you make us so proud every single day!

Today’s Star of the Week assembly was extra special!

Not only did we get to celebrate all the amazing children who have been meeting our school’s Gold Standards, and reveal our Golden Coin winner (one of our brand-new Play Ambassadors ), but we also said a very fond farewell to Ethel.

After many years of looking after our children in the kitchen, today was Ethel’s last day before starting a very well-deserved retirement. She has been such a valued part of West Boldon Primary and will be truly missed by staff and children alike.

Thank you, Ethel, for everything you’ve done for our school community.

We get to start the day with our Star of the Week assembly — celebrating all the fantastic children who have met so many of our gold standards — but we also find out who has won the Golden Coin and why they were chosen! Take a look at our fabulous winners this week! Amazing job from everybody — well done!

Friday is always our favourite day of the week at West Boldon Primary. That’s because we get to kick it off with our Star of the Week & Golden Coin assembly!

This year we’ve had a real focus on our Gold Standards – both in behaviour and in learning – and it was brilliant to hear how many children are meeting these standards to earn their badges and golden coins.

Keep up the amazing work, everyone – we’re so proud of you all!

What a fantastic Friday morning at West Boldon Primary!

We kicked things off with our usual Star of the Week Golden Coin Assembly —always a highlight as we celebrate our brilliant pupils and their amazing achievements!

Then it was time for Transition Morning, where children met their new teachers and began getting excited for the year ahead.

A big warm welcome as well to all the new parents and families who joined us this morning—we loved having you in school and can’t wait to see your children start their journey with us in September!

This morning, we held our Star of the Week Golden Coin Celebration Assembly and it was absolutely wonderful to hear how so many of our children are consistently reaching our school’s Gold STANDARDS—both in their behaviour and their attitudes to learning.

Well done to all of our shining stars this week!

A quick reminder: Next week is a very important one in the school calendar. It’s our Final Assessment Week, where teachers will carry out a series of tests to measure the progress children have made throughout the academic year.

On Tuesday, we will also be sending home end-of-year school reports, which will include the class teachers for next year. Please keep an eye out for these in your child’s bag!

Let’s all keep up the great effort and finish the year strong!

27th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

At West Boldon Primary School, we love recognising the amazing achievements of our pupils—and this week was no exception!

Our Stars of the Week, chosen by their teachers, have been shining brightly through their outstanding behaviour, brilliant effort in class, and kind-hearted support for others. From showing resilience in learning to being wonderful role models, each of these children has made us incredibly proud. Well done to all of you!

A special congratulations goes to our Golden Coin winner this week! This lucky pupil was personally selected by our headteacher, Mrs Garr, for consistently showing our school values. As part of their reward, they got to choose a book from our fabulous book vending machine—a special treat that celebrates a love of reading and a job well done.

We’re so proud of every child who continues to embody our Gold Standard Behaviour and Gold Standard Work. Keep up the fantastic effort, West Boldon!
