Class 7 have been building their own volcanoes today. They worked in pairs to create the structure using paper-mache, and in the coming weeks we will paint and (hopefully) erupt them. A very messy afternoon but great fun was had by all! 🌋

Year 6 have been discovering The Vikings this half term. For our DT project we are designing, planning, making and evaluating Viking Long Ships.

This half term the children in Year 3 have been answering the learning challenge question: ‘How did the Early Britons make shelters?’ as part of their DT work.
The children designed their own Stone Age shelter; either a Paleolithic cave or a Mesolithic tent-style home. To make their designs come to life, they molded clay and used sticks to hold them in place. Once the clay had dried, the children painted them in the colours they would have been back in the Stone Age.
Take a look at our fabulous Stone Age settlement!

We loved exploring moving pictures and were completely transfixed to our own creations to make a picture move.

In Year 3 this week the children have been making their very own volcanoes! They used a plastic bottle, cardboard, and masking tape to create a frame, then began adding newspaper in the form of paper-mache to create the shape.
