An Amazon adventure story set in the wilderness of Brazil, Journey to the River Sea is filled with mystery and memorable characters. Year 3 have had a fantastic time learning about scaling in maths, they had to initially learning what this meant and how to scale up and down numbers. After developing a good understanding of this they then got to put this into practice with instructions on how to make different quantities of scones. The end result was very tasty!
Pfizer came to run ‘Medicine snd Me‘ workshops with Year 6. We discovered how medicines are made and what is found in a medicine cabinet. We then packaged medicines to distribute around the world. At the end a q&a session enabled us to discover more about the company, medicine design, medicine manufacturing and careers in pharmaceuticals. We also learned from Adele, Kirsten and Sarah that there are many other jobs at Phizer, and not just scientists. Year 6 pupils were inspired by our workshops and hopefully many of our pupils will enter the science and engineering workplace in the future. Thank you Pfizer!
