Class 4 enjoyed dancing with Cheryl Washbourne this week. We are going to work hard to learn a whole routine by the end of term.
Year 1 and 1/2 started their new P.E. unit off with a bang this week by learning some kickboxing with Mr Brown.
The children loved it and it is great to see them all together and being active again, as well as doing something fun!
This week in Year 4 the children have proven to be super mathematicians and I am very proud of them all.
Using their knowledge of fractions from last term, the children have been identifying tenths and hundreds as fractions. They have utilized their mathematical vocabulary when discussing how to answer questions and it is wonderful to see their confidence growing.
Later in the week, the children moved onto representing tenths as decimals in a variety of ways such as, using number lines, place value charts and concrete apparatus.

Dear Parents/Carers,
We are very happy to be able to welcome all the children back to school on Monday March 8th on a full-time basis. Unfortunately, we still have to adhere to the same restrictions that were in place previously in order to keep yourselves, children and staff safe and help to prevent the rise of infection from Covid -19.
This does mean we will still have staggered start and end times, (unless you have siblings in school, on which case you bring all children at the start time of your earliest child and collect all children at the latest finish time so that no learning time is missed).
It is important that only one parent brings their child/children to school to reduce the amount of people coming to school. This will ensure we can keep to social distancing measures in place as best as possible. It is vital that parents do not congregate around school premises when dropping off or collecting children as doing so could potentially increase the risk of transmission of the virus. We are very grateful for your support and understanding.
Please see the table below for start and end times together with their entrance for your child’s year group.

In French this Autumn we have been learning about breakfast and fruit nouns. We spent our earlier lessons learning about the French words for fruit, vegetables and the items we have at breakfast. We then moved onto learning about how to ask for an item politely.

This morning Class 5 and Class 7 enjoyed a trip to St Nicholas’ Church. They learned about how Christians celebrate Christmas, and asked Rev. Paul some questions relating to the church itself.
All of the children were so impeccably behaved and are a real credit to our school!
Year 2 are superstar gymnasts!
This term, we have been training hard with Mr Gilmore, our British Champion gymnastics coach. The sessions concluded with a competition judged by Mr Gilmore whereby ALL children were certified ‘gymnasts’.

Well done to all of our amazing children in Year 2.

In Year 2, we have been discovering the functionality of the internet.
Look at these fabulous information posters to show how much the children know about how useful the internet is in day to day life.
