Shoutout to our amazing adventurers from West Boldon! 
These brave kids have been taking on some epic challenges—gorge walking, jetty jumping, and exploring the stunning Cathedral Quarry near Coniston! 
From climbing rocks to making a splash, they’ve tackled it all with huge smiles and fearless energy. This is what unforgettable memories and teamwork are all about! 
What an adventure! Our incredible Year 5 and 6 students from West Boldon have been exploring the stunning Lake District. They’ve taken on the challenge of canoeing across beautiful lakes and even ventured deep into the caves! 
The Thurston excitement continues…some of the children have had a fun filled day taking part in team building activities and rock climbing. They are all having fun and eating well!
It was an exciting day for many of our year 5/6s as they headed off to Thurston in the Lake District. They had a nice drive over and stopped en route for some lunch. They have just arrived now safe and sound; they are busy unpacking and getting allocated their dorms.
Our school gives the year sixes a clap of honour each year to celebrate all their hard work over the last 7 years. It’s a rite of passage. Today was no different and is something that these children will remember for the rest of their lives. Westies for life. 
We are so proud of our Year 6’s. Today was SATs results day. The children have all worked so hard and have all achieved so much. We know that regardless of what the children have achieved they are all going to go on and do great things in life. Well done Year 6!
The weather was perfect today and enabled us to hold both Rec/KS1 and KS2 Sports Days. The children loved trying their best to be the fastest and we had huge support from our parents/carers as usual. We know the children will sleep well tonight!
Community Champions from Asda Boldon and Asda South Shields joined our Year 6 classes to talk about the range of jobs available within Asda stores, including roles in security, finance, HR, the shop floor, and marketing and buying. It was fascinating to hear about product placement within the stores and how companies vie for the prime spots to sell their goods. Other topics discussed included how early Christmas appears in stores, other seasonal decisions, and the fierce competition with other supermarket giants.
It was so nice to welcome Sunshine Nursery to school today for some paired reading. The children loved being read to on our reading bus. It’s so nice to create these links with our feeder nursery’s.
Each Wednesday morning our children take part in ‘paired reading’, this is where older children go and read with younger children.
As we saw the sun was out today we thought we’d take the session outside! Just makes it slightly more fun and memorable for our children.
