Celebration Assembly 20th June 2025

20th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

What a lovely day at West Boldon Primary!

We kicked off the day with our Star of the Week Golden Coin Celebration Assembly – it’s always amazing to hear how many of our children are consistently meeting our Gold Standards

A big thank you to the wonderful parents who joined us for our weekly Look and Lunch. It’s always such a joy to welcome you in school to see the fantastic learning and share a meal with your child ️

With the warm weather continuing, some of our imaginative pupils even found clever ways to cool off – including desk trays to dip their feet in! Genius thinking!

If you’d like to join us for a future Look and Lunch – to tour the school, enjoy lunch with your child, and see their brilliant work – just email [email protected]

Year 1/2 and the Nissan Enterprise Workshop

18th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

Our young engineers got hands-on building their own LEGO cars, discovered fascinating facts about our local Nissan plant, and even let their imaginations run wild designing cars of the future!

The day was full of creativity, teamwork, and inspiring ideas — who knows, we might have some future car designers in the making!

A big thank you to Nissan for a brilliant and engaging workshop!

This afternoon, we began our Father’s Day events with a lovely Reception Stay and Play session followed by an adorable KS1 performance celebrating all the wonderful male figures in our children’s lives. ‍‍

Commando Joe’s Mission: Spartacus

13th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

Today, Year 5 stepped into the sandals of Spartacus — a brave gladiator leading a mission against all odds! With fewer men in his army, Spartacus had only one chance of winning: teamwork. And that’s exactly what we showed!

From building battle strategies to completing challenges, we showed:
️ Self-communication – thinking before acting and talking clearly to each other
Teamwork – listening, encouraging, and making sure no one was left behind

Every decision counted, and we worked like a true army!
Spartacus would’ve been proud.

12th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

A group of children from the ARC had an amazing morning at South Shields Beach today! ️ They absolutely loved surfing, paddle boarding and riding the waves like pros

So much confidence, teamwork and laughter on show – we’re so proud of them all!

Year 3 are Rainforest Explorers!

10th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

Our Year 3 children had a fabulous time on Monday as they became Rainforest Explorers!

We began the day diving into the wonders of the rainforest – learning about its fascinating layers and the incredible animals that call it home. Then, we explored rainforest produce, handling real nuts and seeds .

Next, we helped Lola the Lemur on an exciting rainforest trail through the Winter Gardens, solving clues and discovering fascinating facts along the way! ️‍

After lunch, we explored the museum with a fun interactive trail. From finding something blue, to spotting artefacts over 1000 years old, to picking out objects that made us laugh – the children showed great curiosity and enthusiasm throughout.

Their behaviour was exceptional all day – listening carefully, respecting museum visitors with quiet voices and safe walking, and showing real maturity on the Metro and during the walk back to school.

Well done, Year 3 – you made us proud!

7th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

What a fantastic end to the week at West Boldon Primary!

We kicked off our Friday with our usual Star of the Week assembly, celebrating all the amazing achievements and hearing the wonderful reasons why our children have been hitting our Gold Standards – such a lovely way to start the day!

A special shoutout to one pupil who received our Golden Coin Award for giving some truly brilliant answers in class – well done!

And to top it all off, Year 6 continued their SATs celebrations with a well-deserved trip to Boldon Cinema to watch the new Mission Impossible movie. Despite it being nearly three hours long, the children were completely engaged and, as always, represented the school brilliantly.

Shark-tastic Learning at West Boldon!

5th June 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

This week, our Afterschool LEGO League Club for Years 1, 2 & 4 at West Boldon Primary had a FIN-tastic opportunity to dive deep into the world of marine life!

We were thrilled to welcome Jillian Morris, the founder of @Sharks4Kids, for an exciting video call where our young ocean explorers learned all about sharks, their importance to the ecosystem, and how we can help protect our oceans.

The knowledge and inspiration from this session are now being brought to life in our LEGO League Submerged challenge—where our teams are designing builds based on what they’ve learned about ocean conservation.

Thank you, Sharks4Kids, for helping our children become ocean advocates—one LEGO brick at a time!

23rd May 2025Miss K. Wilkinson

This morning’s assembly was bursting with pride as we celebrated our amazing Stars of the Week! The whole school has been shining bright by meeting our Gold Standards, but these superstars have truly gone the extra mile!

A huge shoutout to our Golden Coin winner too —his thoughtful contributions to our British Values assemblies on Tuesdays have really stood out!

Keep being brilliant, West Boldon!
