ARC 1 took it in turns and practiced their skills in working as a team to move the parachute to follow a light wind and strong wind. Well done ARC 1!
The weather was perfect today and enabled us to hold both Rec/KS1 and KS2 Sports Days. The children loved trying their best to be the fastest and we had huge support from our parents/carers as usual. We know the children will sleep well tonight!
This week, Year 3, Year 4 and Arc 2 had a great visit with Jenna from Sunderland Software City. She told us all about her career involving technology, the amazing opportunities she’s had and how we can get into a career in tech. Most importantly we learned that there are lots of technology jobs and opportunities right here in the North East. We then had the opportunity to try some of the VR headsets that she had brought with her!

We had Zoolab into school today with Year 3 and the ARC. The children were so brave and loved being able to hold and pet all the various creatures… we’re not quite as sure some of the staff loved the experience!
The children in ARC 1 visited Washington Riding Centre this morning. They had a brilliant time riding the horses, every child embraced this new experience and thoroughly enjoyed themselves!
Each Wednesday morning our children take part in ‘paired reading’, this is where older children go and read with younger children.
As we saw the sun was out today we thought we’d take the session outside! Just makes it slightly more fun and memorable for our children.
The children in ARC2 are reading “Stone Age Boy” in Literacy.
Today they worked in pairs to act out a scene between the two main characters, thinking about their facial expressions and body language.
They practised their scene and then performed for the class.
The children in the ARC had to work in teams for their Commando Joe mission today.
They had to build a shelter to protect them from a storm, making sure it was big enough for the whole team to fit in. They came up with some really inventive ideas to create their dens.
Well done!
