Class 4 have loved their Design Technology project this term – to make their own wheeled vehicle.
This morning Class 3 made the most of the sunshine and took our last Design & Technology lesson of this half term outside!
All term we have been looking at how to make a wheeled vehicle. We have researched axels, axel holders and wheels as well as how they work. We have designed our own vehicles and this week we worked in groups to bring our designs to life!
We spent a lovely lesson on the yard, painting our vehicles in beautiful bright colours ready for our very own Wacky Races this afternoon!
Class 3 have been using lots of resources this week to help them solve their core maths worksheets! Using numicon to add and represent numbers has really helped us ace our addition and subtraction with two digit numbers!
In science Class 4’s topic is to find out if Red Riding Hood would like to visit our school grounds.
We know Red Riding Hood likes to spend time in the woods, so we went outside to investigate what kind of trees are around our school.
We were amazed by how tall some of the trees were and how big the crowns were. The boys were so excited to find some exposed roots.
We all looked very closely at the leaves and tried to match them to our identification sheet.

Class 3 had a lovely afternoon birdwatching today!
As part of our science lessons, we’ve been looking at the birds, plants and trees that Little Red Riding Hood might find in our school grounds.
Today we spotted a sparrow, some blackbirds, some magpies, a blue tit, and lots of seagulls and pigeons. We then recorded our findings and explained where we found each bird.
We had a great time exploring and observing.
Class 4 have been exploring counting in multiples this week. Today we have explored counting in 5’s. Year one children worked together to make groups of 5 and to make their own number lines, while the year 2 children were so confident that they had a go at learning about the 5 times table.
Class 3 and 4 are studying the gorgeous book The Robot and the Bluebird by David Lucas this term.

Class 4 enjoyed dancing with Cheryl Washbourne this week. We are going to work hard to learn a whole routine by the end of term.
Year 1 and 1/2 started their new P.E. unit off with a bang this week by learning some kickboxing with Mr Brown.
The children loved it and it is great to see them all together and being active again, as well as doing something fun!
