This year, being a little bit different, we couldn’t gather in our key stages to compete in sports day. We did however, all take to the tracks to compete in our bubbles.
There were various games competed in house colours including balancing a bat on a ball, bean bag shuttle, and the sack race!
It was such good fun for all year groups – everyone had a tremendous time!
Have a look below at some short videos of each year group enjoying their turn on the tracks.

Year 6 enjoyed the beautiful sunshine in our Secret Garden. As part of our science habitats topic, we observed the flora and created botanical drawings 🌻🌿🌾

Year 2 listened to the well known story of Elmer the Elephant by David McKee and talked about being unique. They made Their own bespoke elephants to reflect their own personalities and differences.

To celebrate International Pride Day, Year 5 have been learning about diversity and how important it is to be kind to everyone in our community. They have designed Pride T-shirts that they feel best represents the kindness and respect that they have for the LGBT+ community.

Year 6 had a Friday afternoon session on Diversity. They wrote what diversity meant to each of them, then created profiles about themselves to show how they are different from one another. They then found someone else in the year group that had their own special values.
Year 6 also spent time decorating their classroom door to show how inclusive and accepting their classroom is. They completed acrostics for the inside of the classroom and decorated bunting in bright colours for the outside.

We have also spent some time decorating our school gates with the rainbow flag and pictures and information about LGBT+ icons in different fields.
Year 6 had great fun at the rounders competition. We had 2 teams competing and came second and third places – well done to all our super sporty Westies!

Year 6 have been creating their own ‘Scribblebots’ this week in science. They used a series circuit of a battery and motor which makes the bot move and make some lovely patterns!

This week is Mental Health Week. This year the focus is on Nature. Here are some of our Year 6 children’s wonderful poems. 🌲🌿🍃🌳
This week Class 13 have enjoyed making up their own dance routines in groups. Some amazing moves and choreography going on!
