‘TO GIVE, TO HELP, TO BE KIND AND CREATE HAPPINESS’
Some of the children in year groups 3 to 6 have been involved with the ‘Giving Project’ to achieve the ‘Dance Together Award’.

In science Class 4’s topic is to find out if Red Riding Hood would like to visit our school grounds.
We know Red Riding Hood likes to spend time in the woods, so we went outside to investigate what kind of trees are around our school.
We were amazed by how tall some of the trees were and how big the crowns were. The boys were so excited to find some exposed roots.
We all looked very closely at the leaves and tried to match them to our identification sheet.

Class 3 had a lovely afternoon birdwatching today!
As part of our science lessons, we’ve been looking at the birds, plants and trees that Little Red Riding Hood might find in our school grounds.
Today we spotted a sparrow, some blackbirds, some magpies, a blue tit, and lots of seagulls and pigeons. We then recorded our findings and explained where we found each bird.
We had a great time exploring and observing.
Today Year 5 students took part in a litter pick. We collected 6 bags full of rubbish in preparation for the development of the outdoor learning area which starts on Wednesday…litter bugs beware!
Stuart from Costain visited reception on Friday, he talked about the current building work at Testo’s roundabout and his role as a civil engineer.
He told us about the typical tasks he undertakes and answered our questions.
The children enjoyed finding out about the safety gear he uses and had the chance to try on his goggles, safety hat and hi vis jacket.
On Wednesday, 24 Year 5 children took part in a football competition at Castle View Academy. Although they didn’t win on this occasion, all children approached each game with a fantastic attitude and had a great time.
Year 4 recently created chariots in DT. They designed them, built them and then of course raced them! We had an ultimate champion from each class- it was very competitive.
