Celebration Friday – 13th December 2024

19th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

What a fantastic day we had at West Boldon Primary yesterday!

Not only did we enjoy a delicious Christmas lunch, but we also celebrated our Star of the Week and Golden Coin winners in assembly!

It was truly inspiring to hear how so many of our children are meeting the school’s Golden Standards and giving their all during assessment week. Your hard work and determination makes us so proud!

Well done, everyone – you’re amazing!

Christmas Dinner Day!

19th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

Christmas Lunch at West Boldon Primary isn’t just the best in Boldon, not just the best  in South Tyneside…it’s the BEST IN THE WORLD!

Today, some lucky parents joined us for Look and Lunch and got to experience Mandy and her team’s fantastic feast firsthand – and what an extravaganza it was!

It was also lovely to gather some of the children to sing We Wish You a Merry Christmas as a heartfelt thank you to our amazing catering team. What a special moment to celebrate their hard work and festive spirit!

A huge thank you to Mandy and the whole team for making Christmas magic happen on a plate. You’ve truly outdone yourselves!

Carols around the Christmas Tree!

12th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

What a magical evening, taking our school choir to Carols Around the Tree! This truly marks the start of Christmas! A massive thank you to the Mayor of South Tyneside for joining us and to the amazing West Boldon residents for organising such a fantastic community event. Our choir sang their hearts out and made us all so proud. Nights like these remind us of the power of coming together as a community!

Art Club Update!

12th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

Our talented Art Club members have been hard at work creating incredible pieces inspired by animals from around the world!

  • They started by sketching seals from the Arctic, followed by vibrant African animals framed with traditional borders using oil pastels.
  • Next, they crafted a stunning watercolour ocean scene, complete with an under-the-sea collage. Along the way, the children explored analogous colours on the colour wheel and used complementary colours to bring their turtles to life!
  • To wrap up the term, they created beautiful clay Christmas tree decorations, painting them with acrylics to add a festive touch.

We’re so proud of their creativity and hard work!

Celebration Friday – 6th December 2024

12th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

It’s been a busy and brilliant day at West Boldon Primary School!

We have loved having some of our parents join us for Look and Lunch – although we’re still investigating who sneakily went back for seconds! Everyone loved seeing our beautiful (and huge!) Christmas tree – it’s definitely brought some extra sparkle to the season!

We celebrated our Stars of the Week and handed out some shiny Golden Coins in assembly. A huge well done to all our amazing pupils – there are officially no more words big enough for all this brilliance!

Thank you to everyone who makes our school such a wonderful place to shine!

Hearts of Kind Words

5th December 2024Fiona Goodwin
The children were inspired by the beautiful peace dove display that was hanging in Durham Cathedral and decided to make Heart Chains with words of Kindness written on each heart. Some of the words written by the children on each heart included:-
Be Kind
Loving
Thoughtful
Caring
Share
Helpful
Smile
Thankful
The hearts are displayed in the school hall to inspire all of the children to spread kindness each day.

Christmas Cards for Age Concern

5th December 2024Fiona Goodwin
Our fantastic Giving Project children got into the Christmas spirit and enjoyed making snowman Christmas cards for Age Concern! The cards were collected and will be distributed to the elderly people who live in our community.
The children should be very proud of themselves, spreading joy to many at this special time of year! Well done to them all.

Shoutout to our amazing parents!

5th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

We wanted to take a moment to give a shoutout to our amazing parents at West Boldon Primary!

We are truly overwhelmed by your generosity. Not only did you help us raise and incredible amount of money and food donations last week, but one thoughtful parent also donated an air fryer!

This fantastic gift will be raffled off during our end-of-term Christmas performances, so make sure you grab your tickets for a chance to win.

Thank you for your continued support – it makes such a difference to our school community. Together, we’re making a positive impact!

OPAL Update!

5th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

Over the last few weeks, we’ve been on the hunt for new Play Ambassadors to help us at lunchtimes! Miss Ingoe collected applications, held interviews, and selected 20 fantastic children to take on this important role.

This week Team One met to plan, learn their responsibilities, and hit the ground running! You can spot them in the yard by their colourful lanyards.

They’ve been helping younger children, organising activities, and keeping all the play equipment in check!

A huge WELL DONE to Team One – you’ve been absolutely amazing!

Boldon in Need 2024

5th December 2024Fiona Goodwin

What an amazing day we’ve had at West Boldon Primary!

Today, our Boldon in Need initiative was a huge success, with a fantastic amount of food donated to support local food banks. Together, we also raised an incredible £109 to help those in need – thank you so much for your generosity!

We also celebrated our Star of the Week and Golden Coin winners in assembly, recognising the wonderful achievements of our pupils. It was lovely to see such big smiles and proud moments!

To top it all off, we welcomed parents into school for our Look and Lunch event, where they got to see first hand the amazing learning happening in our classrooms.

A massive thank you to everyone who made today so special – our brilliant children, staff and supportive families. Together, we’re making a real difference!
