We had a lovely ‘star’ of the week assembly on Friday. It was so nice to hear how all these children have been meeting the schools Gold standards. Keep it up everyone.

Huge thank you to Mrs Goodwin’s dad for coming into school and creating this amazing drone footage. How amazing does the school look? it’s so nice to see all the children loving life.
Please feel free to share to show everyone what a fab place West Boldon is!

Dear Parents,
Please see the letter below for changes coming into effect around unauthorised absences and statutory action.
The children in ARC2 have loved their topic all about Africa.
We have learnt all about the country Kenya, linked to our text “Lila and the Secret of the Rain”. We have learnt about compass points and used them to navigate around maps of the Savannah, learnt lots of facts about the “Big 5” African animals and classified animals in different ways. We even made smoothies using fruits that grow in Africa. We explored the features of a lions face, as well as the colour palette needed to help us make amazing paper mache lion masks.
Well done ARC2!
Year 5 thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Eden Camp today!
A visit to the museum was a fabulous way to introduce our new Dimemsions topic. Everyone experienced what a street looked like during the Blitz and life on a submarine. We also learned more about evacuees, rationing and the great escape.
More exciting times at West Boldon Primary… we bought a mini bus!
This will enable us to take children on far more trips and also keep the costs of these down for parents. We are also going to use it to pick up some of our taxied in children and this will reduce congestion on the streets around school.
It was our favourite assembly of the week today….’star of the week’.
All the children have come back this week with a great attitude but these children have gone that little but further.
Well done to all.
✨✨
‘TO GIVE, TO HELP, TO BE KIND AND CREATE HAPPINESS’

A new project has been introduced into the school
To Give, To Help, To Be Kind and Create Happiness.
Easter is such a beautiful time of year and the ‘Giving Project’ made the most beautiful Easter cards for the residents of the Sycamore Care Home.
The children enjoyed making over 60 cards! The Sycamore Care Home residents were very happy to receive the beautiful handmade cards.
This was a lovely way to share the happiness that Easter brings with our local community.
We absolutely loved all the entries in this year’s Easter egg competition.
The children enjoyed coming into the hall and Mandy and Christine had fun picking out the winners!
We will be announcing the winners and giving them their prizes in assembly tomorrow.
